Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc in Winnipeg is seeking a Maintenance Planner who provides technical planning, scheduling and cost control support to maintenance and production teams. You’ll develop final work sequences, prepare cost estimates and allocate resources, updating records in the CMMS.

The role emphasizes safe work practices, budget discipline, and effective work order scheduling. You’ll coordinate with contractors, assess equipment issues on site and ensure critical spare parts are available to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 2 years of study in a related field, technical school diploma at a community college, university or equivalent, plus a trade, apprenticeship or operating training
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills; SAP knowledge preferred
• 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Improves maintenance effectiveness by planning spare parts, materials and equipment to avoid delays
• Promotes a safe working environment and safe work practices
• Plans work for quality and efficiency and contributes to the maintenance budget utilization
• Visits work sites to evaluate problems and plan routine and shutdown maintenance
• Determines material requirements and parts locations
• Develops and maintains a file of best practices (safe work procedures, work instructions)
• Manages and reviews the work order backlog and scheduling of work orders
• Ensures availability of critical spares and acts as a resource for locating parts
• Identifies and communicates suspected repeat equipment problems to maintenance leadership
• Directs outside contractors and follows up to ensure completion of work
