Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule routine and non-routine maintenance work for department assets, including maintenance shutdowns.
- Coordinate with the operations department to schedule maintenance and repair activities.
- Monitor plant equipment and systems continuously to minimize unplanned downtime, troubleshoot issues promptly, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Assist in planning and implementing departmental improvements and expansions.
- Oversee the operation of stock preparation equipment and systems.
- Maintain a maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history.
- Coordinate with the spare parts department to ensure availability for shutdowns and daily operations.
- Prepare reports, analyze data, and recommend improvements for plant operations and maintenance issues.
- Analyze and enhance key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance costs, preventive maintenance compliance, and schedule adherence.
- Ensure compliance with city, provincial, and federal regulations related to maintenance activities.
- Participate in setting objectives, developing plans, and reviewing plant performance.
- Develop and implement structured preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Prepare annual budgets and recommend equipment upgrades or needs.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (preferred).
- Experience in a paper mill or manufacturing environment.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong leadership skills with a lead-by-example management style and a passion for process improvement.
- Deep knowledge of safety standards and a commitment to safety.
- Focus on continuous improvement and quality.
- Experience with maintenance control systems, spare parts procurement, and purchasing processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
