Maintenance Planner

Purpose of Role

The Maintenance Planner supports Port Hope's maintenance and reliability efforts by performing planning, requisitioning materials and services, and coordinating future maintenance plans and projects. Success in this role requires integrity, excellent time management, independence, and strong relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate is approachable, respectful, proficient with computer systems, understands EAM practices, and is comfortable with virtual meeting platforms and scheduling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across departments to develop clear, achievable work plans.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, storeroom, and purchasing to plan, prioritize, and ensure parts availability for shutdowns and projects.
  • Maintain records related to insurance, work instructions, licenses, and reports.
  • Prepare job plans with safety instructions and precautions.
  • Participate in work request approvals and weekly meetings with operations.
  • Maintain records, generate compliance reports, track resources, provide estimates, and prioritize work based on production needs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and zero harm initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Over 5 years of experience in manufacturing as a Millwright, Electrician, or similar trade, with strong safety policy knowledge.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, drafting, and operating PCs and maintenance systems, with problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, making decisions and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Experience with EAM, CMMS, Asset Management systems, and Oracle.
  • Educational background in electrical and mechanical trades; an Associate's degree is preferred; High School diploma required.
  • Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
