Job summary

IPEX is seeking a Maintenance Planner for its Mississauga, Ontario facility. The role focuses on planning, scheduling, inventory control, and coordination of maintenance activities to keep operations running efficiently.

You will develop preventive maintenance schedules, manage spare parts, and maintain work orders in MES/CMMS while supporting health and safety programs. The position offers a full-time weekday schedule with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using CMMS or maintenance management software.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of inventory management and spare parts control.
• Experience with 5S and continuous improvement.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
• Excellent English communication.
• Workplace health and safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate maintenance work with the leadership team.

Location: Mississauga, ON
Pay: $36.00 - $43.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

What You'll Do:

As a Maintenance Planner, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Maintenance Department through effective planning, scheduling, inventory control, and maintenance coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate maintenance work assignments in collaboration with the maintenance leadership team.
• Assist in the development and management of preventative maintenance schedules.
• Manage inventory levels and coordinate the procurement of spare and replacement parts.
• Create, update, and maintain work orders within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and CMMS platforms.
• Optimize preventative maintenance programs through detailed analysis and scheduling improvements.
• Review preventative and predictive maintenance findings and develop corrective action work orders.
• Identify and document safety requirements, permits, and special procedures for maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers as required.
• Support Health & Safety, Environmental Management Systems, 5S initiatives, and energy conservation programs.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of industrial maintenance operations and equipment.
• Experience using CMMS or maintenance management software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of inventory management and spare parts control.
• Experience with 5S methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
• Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Working knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.

Preferred:

• Experience within the plastics manufacturing industry.

Working Environment:

• Frequent walking and standing.
• Lifting, pushing, and pulling materials up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and industrial equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities.
