Job description

MAINTENANCE PLANNER

THE POSITION

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our team at our facility in Delta, BC. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for owning the Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling system. You are part of the operations leadership team that is responsible for supporting and implementing change management and productivity improvements within the plant. In addition, you will lead Maintenance standard work practices across the plant that ensure reliability, maintainability, and availability of plant resources with a specific focus on overall deterioration losses to deliver the plant's Compelling Business Need.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible and accountable for MP&S Competency, which includes ensuring plant standards are aligned to Dessert Holdings Standards. This includes the plant utilizing the CMMS system as intended including following master data standardization.
  • Reviews all incoming approved work orders and ensures that Safety, Material, People, Tools, When, Where, Information (SIMPTWWI) are included on all job plans.
  • Ensures all Assets within the CMMS are maintained from Cradle to Grave, and include BOMS, PMS and critical spare parts for each asset. This includes accountability for ensuring new equipment brought in follows the same standards.
  • Drives improvements in equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability by focusing on the plant's top losses and being an active participant in Daily Direction setting meetings.
  • Accountable for the spare parts process and ensuring proper safety stock levels and maintenance strategies are aligned.
  • Creates and publishes the plant maintenance work plan for the week including any standard plant stops.
  • Works collaboratively with the Maintenance manager to set 30/90 actions to ensure Key standard metrics are met and aligned with Dessert Holdings Standards.
  • Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices which help ensure safety within the workplace and the production of safe and quality product(s).
  • Documents all Maintenance work activity within the CMMS System.
  • Effectively supports the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have experience working with Master Data and CMMS systems.
  • Must have Mechanical and Electrical experience and understanding.
  • Must have experience leading and owning RCA processes and systems.
  • Must have knowledge for identification of Component Failure modes and countermeasure preventative maintenance tasks to prevent failure modes.
  • Ability to understand Total Cost of Ownership and ability to coach maintenance team and leaders on changes or creation to maintenance standards.
  • Ability to record all maintenance work within the CMMS system and follow all CMMS Process and Procedures.
  • Must have a flexible schedule.
  • Must be willing to work overtime including weekends if necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills.

REQUIRED

  • 3+ years of industrial Mechanical experience or a two-year technical degree preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English; preferred if can also read, write and speak Spanish.
  • Must be able to successfully complete HACCP Certification.
  • Must have Forklift License or be able to complete required training within 90 days of hire.

PREFERRED

  • Good verbal, written communication, and mathematical skills (ability to deal tactfully and courteously/interdepartmentally as well as with co-workers and vendors).
  • FEMA / RCM development and implementation experience.
  • Working Knowledge of Ovens, bakery equipment, and packaging equipment.
  • AIB Bakery Equipment training course is helpful.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs and is required to ask for assistance if limit is exceeded.
  • Stoop, kneel or bend.
  • Be on feet up to 12 hours a day.
  • Manual Dexterity is required for operating machinery and computers.
