Job summary

Wainbee in Richmond, BC is seeking an experienced Red Seal Millwright / Industrial Mechanic to join our maintenance team in a full-time, permanent role. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial machinery and plant equipment.

You will read blueprints and schematics, support equipment improvements to minimize downtime, and provide on-call coverage as required.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Millwright / Industrial Mechanic certification (BC or Interprovincial).
• 5+ years journeyman-level experience; 7+ years preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, printing, packaging, or production environments.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain industrial production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Welding/machinist certification (CWB) is an asset.
• Forklift/scissor lift experience/certification is an asset.
• Comfortable with computer systems, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and reducing downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial machinery and plant equipment
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment including printing presses, laminators, extruders, slitting machines, and conveyors
• Fabricate and replace parts, perform welding, and assist with inventory and material ordering
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
• Work closely with production to identify equipment improvements and minimize downtime
• Provide on-call support for equipment breakdowns as required
• Follow all health and safety procedures and contribute to a respectful workplace
