Canplex Profiles Inc. in Durham Region is seeking a skilled maintenance lead for a on-site role in our plastic products manufacturing facility.

The position involves supervising apprentices, performing routine and complex maintenance, and programming PLCs to ensure smooth operation of gearboxes and related machinery. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience, a trades certificate or diploma, and WHMIS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• WHMIS certificate.
• On-site work at a plastic products plant.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Coach and instruct apprentices.
• Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
• Repair or replace defective machinery parts.
• Fabricate parts during overhaul, maintenance or setup.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery.
• Operate machining tools to fabricate parts.
• Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Install machinery and equipment.
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
