Job summary

Erritt Construction Ltd. in Ontario seeks a skilled on-site Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain heavy machinery and trucks. You will mentor apprentices, manage parts and inventory, and ensure compliance with manufacturers' specs.

Role requires welding experience, ability to travel to various sites, and a valid driver’s licence. This position is on-site with no remote work options.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of construction experience.
• On site work, no remote option.
• Valid driver’s licence required.
• Willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Instruct apprentices
• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair
• Order parts and maintain inventory
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
• Keep maintenance reports and documentation
• Welding experience
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
• Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance
• Perform repair work on heavy trucks
