Job summary

Prysmian Group in Oshawa, Ontario is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic/Millwright to install, maintain and repair manufacturing equipment in a fast-paced plant. You will troubleshoot, align, and overhaul systems to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly.

The role requires a valid Ontario 433A certificate and at least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Ontario Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Mechanic Millwright – 433A) is required.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Experience working with CMMS systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and statutory holidays.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures on production equipment and supporting plant systems.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Install new machinery and production equipment.
• Participate in equipment upgrades, modifications, and capital projects.
• Perform precision alignment of machinery using laser alignment equipment and related tools.
• Conduct maintenance planning and participate in FAT/SAT activities.
