Job summary

Outright Consulting in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment, start up machinery for runs, and support safe operation of conveyors and motors.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with trade certificates (433A), strong English communication, ability to work overtime, and a basic tool kit; knowledge of MS Word/Excel is a plus.

• Minimum educational requirement of high school diploma or GED with relevant work experience and trade certificates (433A).
• Self-motivation and ability to work in an environment without direct supervision for extended periods of time.
• Ability to act in accordance with Standard Procedures supporting company-wide operational, service and safety guidelines.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Provide emergency / unscheduled / scheduled repairs of production equipment during production
• Prepare and start up machinery and equipment for scheduled production runs
• Conducting preventative maintenance activities and prioritizing tasks accordingly
• Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams, operation manuals, manufactures instructions and engineering specifications and troubleshooting malfunctions
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair or production machines
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Basic computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be willing to work overtime when required
• Must have a basic tool kit. The employee tool allowance will allow for additional tools
