Job Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic’s primary responsibility is to perform maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance (PMs), and equipment modifications related to production processes and facilities. This includes adhering to food safety, health and safety procedures, and completing maintenance administrative tasks such as filling out work orders and PM logs.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.

Shift: Night shift (11PM - 7AM)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform all planned maintenance (preventive & predictive) efficiently, using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log all activities.
2. Repair equipment, analyze root causes of breakdowns, implement countermeasures, and communicate findings effectively to management and peers.
3. Provide effective and timely on-floor support to the maintenance team, including coverage during off-shift and weekends as needed.
4. Assist in improving the work order system and documentation processes.
5. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to implement permanent solutions for equipment and process issues.
6. Support the development and documentation of maintenance procedures, create one-point lessons, and participate in competency-based training programs.
7. Contribute as a team member on technical projects of varying sizes.
8. Perform additional duties as required.

The Recipe for Success:

• Licensed millwright (e.g., 433A), Technician or Technologist degree/diploma related to maintenance/engineering, with a preference for electrical, mechanical, or robotics specialization.
• Proficiency with CMMS; capable of conducting and completing planned maintenance tasks, generating work orders, and documenting activities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high-intensity environment.
• Strong communication, learning, and teaching skills.
• Team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, engineering drawings, procedures, and regulations.
• Motivated to conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with MS Office suite for data analysis and reporting.
