Maintenance Mechanic (Food manufacturing - Afternoon shift)

About this Position: The Millwright Mechanic will be responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, maintaining day-to-day operations, and managing the physical assets of the company, including equipment and machinery, to minimize production downtime. The role involves maintaining electrical, mechanical, and related systems, working as a team member or independently, and adhering to all safety and food safety procedures, with a high tolerance for heat in a manufacturing environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Resolve system and equipment breakdowns, perform troubleshooting, and modify equipment as needed.
• Troubleshoot process and production issues to facilitate repairs.
• Complete documentation related to preventative maintenance, repairs, safety, inventory, and procedures.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on production and packaging equipment.
• Utilize welding, fabrication, pneumatics, and hydraulics skills for equipment repair.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and programs (GMP, Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety).

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5+ years of similar experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment such as cookie or biscuit production lines.
• Millwright license is mandatory.
• Experience working with leadership teams and overseeing ongoing initiatives.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with leadership abilities.
• Strong analytical skills to identify issues, trends, and drive solutions to improve health and safety.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a desire to make an impact.
• Passion for employee wellbeing and safety.
• Excellent initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.
