Job summary

P.E.I. Bag Co. Ltd. seeks a skilled Industrial Mechanic/Millwright to oversee installation, maintenance and repair of machinery at our Prince Edward Island facility.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience, a trades certificate or diploma, and be comfortable reading blueprints and programming PLCs. This on-site position offers a stable work environment with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience as a millwright/industrial mechanic with 3–5 years in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with PLCs and automated systems; strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical equipment.
• Assemble stationary industrial machinery.
• Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Repair or replace defective machinery parts.
• Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up.
• Perform routine maintenance work on machinery.
• Operate machining tools to fabricate parts.
• Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Installing machinery and equipment.
• Operate hoisting and lifting equipment.
• Commission systems and components.
