TOPPAN Packaging Americas in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and improve manufacturing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support safe, efficient production. Working with Production, Engineering, and the Maintenance Planner, this role aims to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate holds a 433A license (or 433A/309A) with hands-on experience in mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, plus CMMS and spare parts management

Qualifications

• Industrial mechanical maintenance license 433A (or dual 433A/309A) required.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in high-speed production.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
• Experience using CMMS and managing spare parts inventory.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Operate startup/shutdown procedures safely and efficiently.
• Maintain FIFO spare parts inventory and CMMS documentation.

Position: Maintenance MechanicLocation: Mississauga, ONShift: Continental ShiftsPay Rate: $50.50 CAD/hourSummary DescriptionThe Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient production. Working closely with Production, Engineering, and the Maintenance Planner, this position ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant.What You'll Be DoingFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices at all times.Demonstrate a thorough understanding of PPE requirements, electrical safety, energy isolation (Lockout/Tagout), OSHA regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and plant safety standards.Partner with Production to ensure equipment remains in safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition.Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective mechanical maintenance on manufacturing equipment.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and equipment drawings and schematics.Perform equipment startup and shutdown procedures safely and efficiently.Maintain the maintenance spare parts crib using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory practices.Support the Maintenance Planner by helping maintain appropriate spare parts inventory levels.Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to:Document repairs and completed work ordersMaintain equipment historyUpload drawings, safety documents, parts lists, and technical documentationSupport maintenance planning and schedulingPrepare and maintain accurate maintenance documentation and repair records.Assist with capital project planning, capital authorization requests, and project tracking.Evaluate maintenance procedures and recommend improvements that increase equipment reliability and efficiency.Participate in Global Performance System (GPS) initiatives and continuous improvement activities.Communicate effectively with maintenance personnel, production employees, supervisors, and leadership.Perform additional maintenance duties and projects as assigned.We'd Love to Hear From You IfYou have industrial mechanical maintenance license (433A) or a preferred dual ticket (433A and 309A)You have experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment in a high speed production environment.You can read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.You have experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).You have strong organizational skills and experience managing spare parts inventory.You communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.You are self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.You are committed to workplace safety and following established maintenance procedures.You enjoy identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and maintenance processes.You thrive in a team-oriented manufacturing environment focused on continuous improvement.Shift work requiredBenefitsAt TOPPAN Packaging Americas, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support your overall wellbeing.
