Work Location: Guelph, Ontario, Canada

How You Make an Impact: The Maintenance Mechanic ensures production capacity by installing, commissioning, repairing, and maintaining all equipment at the Guelph, Ontario plant.

The Details:

  • Maintain & Repair Production Equipment: Perform scheduled maintenance, evaluate equipment condition, diagnose and repair malfunctions, propose and test solutions, and fabricate parts based on drawings.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Provide reports on equipment status, and receive instructions on repair priorities or projects.
  • Documentation & Planning: Keep detailed records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours; organize maintenance activities and prioritize workload.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Train team members, share best practices, and improve operational procedures.
  • Major Repairs, Projects & Commissioning: Rebuild and prototype equipment, install and commission new machinery, and fabricate parts using welding, machining, and assembly.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education & Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent, with a Certificate of Qualification in Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A).
  • Training: Completed or in the process of completing an apprenticeship in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading machine manuals and specification sheets, with basic computer skills.
  • Soft Skills: Focus on continuous learning, flexibility, customer service, and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Availability: Rotating schedule with afternoons for 2 weeks (Monday-Thursday), followed by 4 weeks of days (Monday-Thursday). Flexibility is critical.
