Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform trades duties across mechanical, fabrication, automotive, and welding trades. The role ensures safe operations, troubleshoots mechanical failures, and prepares for maintenance work within assigned areas of responsibility.
The ideal candidate holds Red Seal Millwright, Welding, or Automotive certification with five years of related experience, a BC Class 5 license, and basic computer skills.

The Maintenance Mechanic performs trades duties in a variety of mechanical, fabrication, automotive and welding trades. Maintains safe working conditions, troubleshoots operating problems and mechanical failures related to building mechanical systems, and prepares for maintenance work in the assigned areas of responsibility.
Red Seal Millwright Trade certification, Red Seal Welding certification, or Red Seal Automotive Trade certification, and five years of related experience in areas such as maintenance of heavy-duty machinery, vehicles, ventilation fans, heating pumps and compressors, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
