Job summary

Golden Life is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager for Lake View Village in Nelson, BC. The role reports to the Community Manager and oversees building and grounds, interior and exterior systems, and supplier coordination.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical or electrical background, at least three years of related experience, and a proven ability to manage budgets and multiple tasks. A clear criminal record check and vaccination status are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years related experience.
• Strong mechanical or electrical understanding.
• Ability to multitask, manage time effectively and prioritize work.
• Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate budgets.
• Experience in a care community or retirement residence is preferred.
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• Up-to-date immunization record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all building and grounds, including interior, exterior, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Complete preventative maintenance per schedules and manufacturer specifications.
• Review, prioritize, and respond to maintenance and resident requests daily.
• Coordinate and oversee trades, suppliers, and contractors; ensure quality and timely work.
• Obtain quotes, schedule services, and monitor workmanship.
• Track warranties, approve completed work, and follow financial policies.
• Resolve maintenance issues and collaborate with Community Managers on resident and staff concerns.
• Source new trades and support building projects, turnovers, and service contracts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift Schedule : Day (Evenings and Weekends as needed)

Shift Times : Flexible | 24 hours per week

What You’ll Do

• Under the direction of the Community Manager, maintain all aspects of the building and grounds, including interior, exterior, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Complete preventative maintenance in line with schedules and manufacturer specifications.
• Review, prioritize, and respond to maintenance and resident requests daily.
• Coordinate and oversee trades, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring quality and timely work.
• Obtain quotes, schedule services, and monitor workmanship through completion.

What You Bring
