Comfort Inn & Suites Medicine Hat, AB is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead daily operations, supervise the maintenance team and ensure preventive maintenance aligns with franchise standards. The role oversees life safety systems and utilities, supports budgeting, and drives guest safety and asset protection.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coaching staff, reviewing purchases, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
• Supervisory skills are required.
• Ability to provide information and services to hotel management and guests.
• Excellent hearing and vision for safety and service.
• Strong speech and literacy for procedures and reports.
• Basic math for cash handling.
• Problem-solving, reasoning, and training abilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Maintenance team: interview, schedule, train, coach and counsel; support performance reviews and discipline as needed.
• Implement and schedule preventive maintenance per corporate/franchise standards and codes.
• Prioritize service requests; monitor and complete service to ensure safety and guest satisfaction.
• Test and inspect life safety systems to ensure 100% operational readiness.
• Monitor utility consumption and report on efficiency.
• Review purchase requests and manage expenses to meet budget goals.
• Maintain schedules, logs and records to ensure smooth operations and reduce liabilities.
