Job summary

INNHotels in Canmore is seeking a Maintenance Manager to own the property's maintenance operations. This standalone, hands-on role has no direct reports and requires someone who can identify needs, perform repairs, and coordinate contractors to keep the facility safe and functional.

You will lead day-to-day maintenance, implement preventive programs, ensure compliance with codes, and maintain guest room and common area facilities while upholding cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance management experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong safety, codes, and preventative maintenance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies, and facilities.
• Inspect property to ensure safety and code compliance.
• Coordinate contractors for specialized work as needed.
• Implement a preventative maintenance program for guest rooms and facilities.
• Maintain common areas and grounds and ensure cost-effective operations.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and train staff accordingly.
• Communicate with other hotel departments and support fire/safety preparedness.

JOB SUMMARY:

As Maintenance Manager, you will take full ownership of the property’s maintenance operations. This is a standalone, hands-on role, meaning you will be the sole member of the Maintenance Department with no direct reports. You will be responsible for identifying and addressing maintenance needs, completing repairs and preventative maintenance, coordinating contractors when specialized work is required, and ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and well maintained. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and is comfortable managing the day-to-day maintenance needs of a property from start to finish.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Routine maintenance in hotel rooms, lobbies, and facilities;
• Inspect hotel regularly to ensure it meets safety standards;
• Ensure snow and ice are cleared promptly from traffic areas;
• Implementation of a preventative maintenance program in the guest rooms;
• Ensure the facility is operated and maintained according to most recent codes and regulations;
• Ensure parts and supplies needed are on hand;
• Act fast to resolve emergency issues and train staff to so as well;
• Ensure upkeep of the common areas and grounds;
• Maintain the overall good repair of hotel rooms including all facilities, furnishings and fixtures;
• Complete all work orders as assigned and in a timely manner;
• Repair and maintain hotel room heating/ventilation system;
• Maintain guest satisfaction;
• Ensure all work is completed in a cost effective manner;
• Maintain safe and environmentally sound work practices;
• Contribute effectively to a multi-functional team environment;
• Communicate effectively with all other departments in the hotel;
• Contribute to the hotel’s preparedness during fire and safety emergencies;
• Perform other related duties as requested.
