Job summary

Canad Inns in Winnipeg seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance strategy, ensure safety, and uphold Canad standards for repairs and housekeeping at the property. Reporting to the General Manager and Corporate Facilities Management, you will oversee equipment, staff, and projects.

The role demands strong leadership, ability to manage multiple initiatives, and hands-on oversight to maintain guest comfort and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role in hospitality.
• Journeyman HVAC or Plumbing certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, equipment and processes.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance strategies for the department.
• Ensure adherence to maintenance standards, repairs, and upkeep.
• Inspect safety controls and facility equipment regularly.
• Coordinate inventory, purchasing and disbursement of supplies.
• Staffing and development of the maintenance team.
• Take action to maintain operations.

Job description

Summary

The Maintenance Manager acts as a resource to, and provides recommendations to the General Manager and through the General Manager to the appropriate support areas within the Canad organization. The Manager is responsible for ensuring the Canad standards relating to maintenance are met or exceeded including required repairs and housekeeping of your Canad Inns property. The Manager will comply with all standards and provide ongoing updates to the General Manager of the facility and the Corporate Facilities Management team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Developing and implementing maintenance strategies for the department.
• Ensures adherence to the Canad Inns standards of maintenance quality, repairs, and upkeep.
• Inspects and ensures safety controls and facility equipment on an on-going basis.
• Coordinates the inventory, purchasing and disbursement of all maintenance supplies.
• Assures proper staffing and adequate supplies for responsible service areas including leadership and development of team
• Takes appropriate action to maintain operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or similar role in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• A Journeyman certification in HVAC or Plumbing is a valuable asset

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
