Job description

Textile waste is a growing global challenge. Syre’s mission is to decarbonize and dewaste textiles, starting with the world's biggest fiber, polyester. By implementing true textile-to-textile recycling at hyperscale, we want to drive the transition from a linear to a circular value chain by putting textile waste to use, over and over again.

Help drive the great textile shift as part of Syre’s inaugural team in Fayetteville, NC. The Maintenance Manager will play a key role in launching our blueprint plant, the first site designed to revolutionize textile recycling and set the foundation for scaling globally. Together, we’ll redefine the future of sustainable textiles by transforming waste into resources, again and again. Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Maintenance Planning: Create and implement preventive schedules (inspections, lubrication, calibration).
• Reactive Maintenance: Swiftly address equipment breakdowns, diagnose issues, and coordinate efficient repairs to reduce downtime.
• Team Leadership: Oversee maintenance technicians, delegate tasks, provide training, and evaluate performance.
• Budget Management: Manage costs for inventory, contractor services, and repairs, finding opportunities to optimize spending.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols for hazardous chemicals and ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate equipment failures and establish corrective actions to avoid recurrence.
• Asset Management: Monitor equipment, predict failures, and plan upgrades to extend asset lifespan.
• Project Management: Supervise equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Vendor Relations: Assess and manage external vendors for services and parts.
• Performance Metrics: Define and track KPIs like uptime, MTTR, and reliability to measure maintenance success.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering (preferred, not mandatory).
• Experience: Proven role as a Maintenance Manager in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving expertise.

This position will report to the Plant Manager and candidates should reside within a commutable distance to Fayetteville, NC.
