Post Hotel & Spa in Lake Louise seeks an Assistant Maintenance Manager to supervise the maintenance team and ensure high-quality work for guest satisfaction and safety.

You will supervise daily tasks, oversee repairs, and coordinate with departments to sustain world-class service in a mountain hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification or power engineering certification, or equivalent maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Hands-on manager with a focus on operational tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in hospitality is an asset.
• Organized and detail-oriented; able to multitask under pressure.
• Physical ability for standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and climbing.

Responsabilités

• Follow and implement maintenance programs for hotel buildings, equipment, and vehicles.
• Assign and oversee daily tasks, routine work, and repair orders.
• Assist with project completion, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
• Inspect boilers, hot tubs, generators; analyze and address issues.
• Perform hands-on maintenance tasks with the team.
• Assist with snow removal and material transport as needed.
• Oversee OH&S and WHMIS compliance for the team.
• Keep Maintenance Building and related areas clean and organized.
• Monitor costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Assist in hiring, scheduling, training, and disciplining staff.
• Prepare staff schedules; ensure fair allocation and retention.
• Participate in staff meetings and coordinate with Maintenance and General Manager.
• Ensure training in emergency procedures and power outages.
• Coordinate with all departments for cohesive teamwork.
• Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and complete admin work.
• Adhere to grooming and dress code; assist other departments as required.

Position Overview

The Assistant Maintenance Manager ensures high-quality maintenance work for guest satisfaction and safety. This role involves supervising, directing, and mentoring the Maintenance team to achieve optimum performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow and implement maintenance programs for hotel buildings, equipment, and vehicles.
• Assign and oversee daily tasks, routine work, and repair orders.
• Assist with project completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
• Maintain equipment in proper working condition and comply with licensing requirements.
• Conduct regular checks of boilers, hot tubs, generators, analyzing and addressing issues.
• Perform hands-on maintenance tasks alongside the team.
• Assist with snow removal and material transport as needed.
• Oversee Occupational Health & Safety and WHMIS compliance for the team.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Maintenance Building and related areas.
• Monitor and control costs for labor, materials, and equipment.
• Assist in hiring, scheduling, training, and disciplining Maintenance staff.
• Prepare staff schedules, ensuring fair allocation and staff retention.
• Participate in staff meetings and maintain ongoing communication with the Maintenance Manager and General Manager.
• Ensure staff training in emergency procedures and power outages.
• Facilitate communication with all departments for cohesive teamwork.
• Participate in cost-saving initiatives and complete administrative paperwork.
• Adhere to grooming and dress code.
• Assist other departments as required.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification (electrical/plumbing/carpentry/HVAC) or power engineering certification (4th or 5th class), or two years of maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to be a hands-on manager with a significant focus on operational tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in hospitality, with a focus on customer service is an asset.
• Organized and detail-oriented, capable of multitasking and handling high-pressure situations.
• Physical capability for tasks involving standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and climbing ladders.
