Job summary

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Maintenance, Licensed Millwright (433A) to support our dairy operations. You will repair, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot filling machines, pasteurizing systems, packaging lines and conveyors in a fast-paced dairy environment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, duties include stock control, CMMS documentation, and collaboration with other trades to minimize downtime. Flexibility for on-call and overtime is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a 433A Industrial Mechanic Certificate of Qualification.
• Red Seal Certification or Interprovincial Endorsement required.
• Minimum 3–5 years in industrial/manufacturing maintenance with equipment repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out equipment modifications and complete overhauls as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment during breakdowns to maintain production efficiency.
• Manage stock room and issue parts for routine and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure equipment is maintained properly and communicate with the team to minimize downtime.
• Follow GMPs and OH&S, and corporate quality and sanitation requirements.

Overview

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Maintenance, Licensed Millwright (433A) to support our dairy operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Millwright will complete repairs, routine and preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot filling machines, pasteurizing process systems, packaging systems, and conveyors common to a dairy operation.

Schedule

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; off Sunday and Monday.

Salary & Compensation

Licensed Probationary rate: $45.34/hr for 90 working days. Licensed Top rate: $47.73/hr. An hourly premium of $0.75 applies to all hours worked by classified maintenance employees, plus additional shift premiums for premium shift times. Tool allowance: $830.

Responsibilities

• Carry out equipment modifications and complete equipment overhauls as required.
• Complete preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment during breakdowns to achieve production efficiencies.
• Take ownership of stock room management and issue parts order requests for routine and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained properly and communicate with the team to minimize machine downtime.
• Work with other trades groups to repair breakdowns, complete project assignments, and provide training to plant staff as needed.
• Document and maintain all appropriate records, including use of CMMS for downtime recording.
• Follow GMPs and work consistently with corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements.
• Comply with OH&S, WSIB, and company policies and procedures to perform all work safely.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications

• Must hold a 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate of Qualification.
• Must provide a Skilled Trades Ontario Red Seal Certification of Qualification and/or an Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement Certificate.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting with equipment repairs.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics required.
• Welding experience (TIG or Arc) is an asset.
• Minimum 1 year of experience related to the food industry, preferably dairy, or high-speed process equipment or packaging experience.
• Extensive experience with electromechanical preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of high-speed automated packaging equipment.
• Ability to work in a highly automated environment and read and understand blueprints and manuals.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Highly motivated, results‑oriented team player with dependable attendance and safety record.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to support all shifts, including weekends and overtime, and/or be on call.
