Job summary

Sofina Foods Inc. in Burlington, Ontario, is seeking licensed 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwrights for a full-time afternoon shift (3pm–11pm) at our pork processing facility. You will maintain mechanical equipment, perform PMs/CM, and respond to production needs to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates are TIG weld proficient, able to lift 50 pounds, and comfortable working in a team. Own tools are required; benefits start after 6 months, plus OT opportunities, boot/tool allowance, and on-site

Qualifications

• Must have a 433A certification and be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Experience as a Millwright in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must communicate effectively in English and follow GMP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant.
• Perform PMs, PDMs, CM and work orders on equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot conveyors and other industrial equipment.
• Install equipment and ensure compliance with GMP maintenance rules.
• Collaborate in a team environment and manage tools and inventory.

The Details:

• Permanent, Full-Time positions available for licensed 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwrights
  • This position is currently an active vacancy.
• Location: 821 Appleby Line, Burlington Ontario
• Afternoon Schedule – Monday to Friday – 3pm to 11pm
• Hourly Rate: $44.25/hour
• End times vary based on production, flexibility will be necessary
• We are a Pork processing facility

Job Tasks:

• Must comply with all safety regulations, to provide a safe working environment for themselves and the workers in the plant
• Maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant
• Performs PMs, PDMs, CM and regular work orders on equipment
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize their work load
• Can repair and work on; conveyors, industrial equipment, pumps, grinders, welding equipment, lathes, power tools, fans, blowers, hydraulic systems, packaging equipment and pneumatic equipment
• Must be a proficient TIG welder
• Must be proficient at repairs and troubleshooting
• Must be able to work in a team type environment
• Full knowledge of hand and power tools
• Installation of equipment
• Follows GMP rules and GMP for Maintenance rules
• Carry out oral or printed work requests and apply corrective actions
• Account for inventory and labour on a computerized maintenance program

Requirements:

• Must have a 433A
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment, repetitive tasks, and ability to stand for extended hours
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted
• Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada
• Must be able to communicate and understand English
• Must have their own tools
• Must have experience as a Millwright
