Job summary

Saputo Inc. in Ontario is seeking a Maintenance, Licensed Millwright (433A) for our Dairy Products Canada operations. Schedule is 4 days x 10 hours with biweekly weekends; probationary rate $45.34 and top rate $47.73, plus a $0.75/hour premium and an $880 tool allowance.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, manage parts stock, document in CMMS, read blueprints, and collaborate with other trades while upholding GMP and OH&S standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a 433A Industrial Mechanic Certificate of Qualification and Red Seal.
• Minimum 3–5 years in industrial/manufacturing maintenance.
• Experience with high-speed packaging equipment preferred.
• Excellent English written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns to maintain production efficiency.
• Modify equipment and overhauls as required.
• Manage stock room and request parts for maintenance.
• Coordinate with other trades and provide plant staff training.
• Document downtime and maintenance records in CMMS.
• Follow GMP and OH&S standards; work safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.

Overview of the role:

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Maintenance, Licensed Millwright (433A), for an existing opportunity within our organization

Schedule:

4 days x 10 hours – biweekly weekends

Salary:

Licensed: Probationary Rate (90 working days) – $45.34;

Licensed Top Rate – $47.73*

• A seventy-five cents ($0.75) per hour premium for all hours worked to all Employees classified as maintenance is applied in addition to the base hourly rate
• Additional shift premiums apply for all hours worked during premium shift times
• Tool Allowance shall be paid to the Maintenance employees at the rate of eight hundred and eighty ($880) dollars

How you will make contributions that matter:

• Carries out equipment modifications, and complete equipment overhauls, as required.
• Completes preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production efficiencies are achieved.
• Take ownership of stock room management and provide order requests of parts required for routine and preventive maintenance.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained properly. Communicate with team to ensure availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime.
• Works with other trades groups to repair breakdowns, complete project assignments and provide training to Plant staff as required.
• Documents and maintain all appropriate records including use of CMMS for downtime recording.
• Follow all GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements.
• Comply and ensure all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WSIB, and company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties, as assigned, by Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager

Qualifications:

• Must hold a 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate of Qualification Must provide a Skilled Trades Ontario Red Seal Certification of Qualification and/or an Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement Certificate
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting and equipment repairs Pneumatics and hydraulics knowledge required Welding experience is an asset
• Minimum 1 year of experience related to food industry, preferably dairy, or high-speed process equipment or packaging experience
• Extensive experience with electromechanical preventative maintenance and troubleshoot of high-speed automated packaging equipment
• TIG and Arc welding experience with a strong fabricating ability is an asset
• Ability to work in a highly automated environment
• Ability to read and understand Blueprints and manuals
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Highly motivated, results orientated, team player
• Dependable with a good attendance and safety record
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English
• Ability to support all shifts (days and afternoons), incl. weekends and overtime, and/or being on call.
