Job summary

Doppelmayr Canada Ltd., located in the Laurentians region near Saint-Jérôme, is seeking a Maintenance Labourer to support the Maintenance Department and assist in various production areas. You will handle routine repairs, inspections, and material handling in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position.
• Forklift Operator Certification is an asset.
• Overhead Crane Operator Training is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to the Maintenance Department and assist in other plant areas as needed.
• Perform routine repairs such as leaks, door issues, and drywall/paint touch-ups.
• Conduct daily/weekly inspections of buildings, lighting, and basic mechanical equipment.
• Assist electricians and mechanics by handling materials and tools; keep work areas organized.
• Mow lawns, rake, sweep, snow removal, and apply salt/sand as needed.
• Move heavy items and transport supplies; ensure safe disposal of waste.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety by storing tools properly and posting warnings where required.
• Clean production equipment including cranes, forklifts, and dust collection systems.
• Comply with company policies, Code of Ethics, and Quality Management System requirements.

Your tasks

As a Maintenance Labourer, you will be responsible for providing general support to the Maintenance Department and may also be required to assist in other areas of the plant by performing various production-related tasks.

Summary of tasks

Routine Repairs

• Address minor maintenance issues such as leaking faucets, sticking doors, or loose fixtures, and perform drywall and paint touch-ups as required.

Facility Inspections

• Conduct daily or weekly inspections of buildings, hallways, lighting systems, and basic mechanical equipment to identify potential hazards.

Trades Support

• Assist electricians and mechanics by handling materials, retrieving tools, and keeping work areas clear and organized.

Outdoor Maintenance

• Mow lawns, trim hedges, sweep walkways, remove snow, and apply salt or sand to prevent icy conditions.

Material and Equipment Handling

• Move heavy furniture, load and unload supplies, and transport waste to designated disposal areas.

Site Safety and Housekeeping

• Sweep floors, remove debris, store tools safely, and install warning signs or barriers when necessary.

Cleaning Production Equipment

• Clean and wash production equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, dust collection systems, and other machinery.

Other tasks

• Follow and comply with the company's policies and Quality Management System requirements.
• Perform all duties in accordance with the company's Code of Ethics.
• Adhere to all occupational health and safety standards and regulations.
• Perform any other related tasks as assigned.

Your profile

Education and Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position.
• Forklift Operator Certification (asset).
• Overhead Crane Operator Training (asset).

Skills and Experience

• Good physical condition and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting loads of up to 20 kg.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to use a variety of tools.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate with others.
• Ability to work in challenging conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Salary according to the collective agreement: $22.95/hour.
