Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Vancouver Island is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support safe, affordable housing by performing repairs, inspections, and routine upkeep at two sites on Vancouver Island. You’ll report to the Property Manager and help maintain buildings, grounds, and systems while upholding professional, respectful conduct.

The role offers variety, on-call rotation, and opportunities to work with tenants, contractors, and staff in a non-profit housing environment.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in building maintenance and related trades.
• First Aid Level 1 is an asset.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations is an asset.
• Ability to use basic computer applications for day‑to‑day tasks.
• Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act is an asset.

Aufgaben

• Inspect and monitor the property, including underground parking, and maintain logs.
• Record maintenance items and report major issues to the Property Manager.
• Perform turnover, minor repairs (plumbing, carpentry, painting).
• Repair/replace defective equipment and fixtures.
• Monitor and coordinate with contractors on site; log activities.
