Job summary

The Mosaic Company offers a Maintenance Engineer Co-Op/Internship for Summer 2027 at the Esterhazy site in Saskatchewan. You will join a team focused on improving equipment performance and providing engineering support for maintenance personnel.

The program runs May 10 to December 18, 2027, typically 36–40 hours per week, in person, with a 9/80 schedule if applicable. Housing/relocation may be provided for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

  • Enrolling in a bachelor’s program in May 2027 or earlier.
  • Minimum 72% average.
  • Ability to work full-time while enrolled as a student.

Maintenance Engineer Co-Op/Intern- Summer 2027

Where will you work: Mosaic Potash Esterhazy is an underground potash mine located 90 kilometers south of Yorkton. It’s split between three mine sites - K1, K2 and K3 which will be the largest, and one of the world’s most competitive underground potash mines in the world. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

A Maintenance Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assigned to special projects and will assist other engineers on major projects.

Projects will focus on improving equipment performance, and engineering support for maintenance personnel.

What you’ll do:
  • Day to day work assignments could include:
  • Support operations and maintenance to improve equipment reliability
  • Technical drawing reviews, field tours with maintenance/operations personnel, and technical support during mechanical failures
  • Specific project assignments will be made by the supervisor; assignments could include:
  • Defining clear project scope and requests for capital work
  • Leading and implementing safety improvement projects
  • Technical drawing updates
  • Completing engineering requests from the operations and maintenance teams
  • Design/size/validate new or modification of existing equipment and piping
  • Provide technical support for equipment inspections
  • Obtain equipment specifications through drawings, manuals, and other relevant searches
  • Assist in completing management of change process for projects
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.
  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.
What you’ll need:
  • Junior level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Industrial Systems Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mining Engineer, Process Engineer, Environmental Systems Engineer.
  • 72% or higher
  • For Louisiana ONLY: TWIC Card or ability to get a TWIC card.
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
  • Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship.
  • Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placementdrug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus

Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
