Job Summary

Responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical equipment in the facility. Tasks include programming and troubleshooting robots, creating PLC and HMI programs, and supporting preventative maintenance. Work collaboratively with maintenance personnel to ensure equipment and electrical systems, including robotics and PLCs, operate efficiently.

General Responsibilities

• Perform all work safely and in compliance with company policies, regulations, and collective agreements.
• Contribute to team efforts and uphold environmental and quality standards (ISO 14001, TS 16949).
• Demonstrate leadership through decision-making, motivation, and fairness.
• Ensure personnel are trained and competent to maintain product quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Specific Responsibilities

• Report to Maintenance Manager; coordinate with supervisors.
• Maintain safety standards and report unsafe practices.
• Complete tasks promptly, troubleshoot breakdowns, and improve processes.
• Perform preventative maintenance and keep work areas clean and safe.
• Record maintenance activities and interpret blueprints.
• Ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and report issues.
• Undertake additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Ontario 422A license.

Experience & Training

• Mechanical background; experience with robotics and PLC programming preferred.
• Certified crane operation, lock-out/tag-out, aerial lift training.
• Willingness to learn and troubleshoot PLCs and robots.
• Recommended: WHMIS training.
