Job Description
Accountabilities
Incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties as below.
Custodial
- Works independently or cooperatively with team members to complete tasks on schedule and according to quality standards.
- Responds to and assists caretakers in their daily tasks in the absence of a supervisor.
- Cleans, sanitizes, sweeps, dusts, mops, washes, vacuums, polishes, and waxes floors.
- Cleans windows, mirrors, woodwork, furniture, equipment, and other surfaces.
- Cleans washroom facilities and shower rooms.
- Cleans offices, classrooms, and other rooms.
- Supplies toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and other hygiene items.
- Empties trash bins and disposes of trash appropriately.
- Cleans, sterilizes, and disinfects areas and equipment before and after use.
- Spot cleans carpets and performs general carpet cleaning as required.
- Performs extensive cleaning, carpet cleaning, stripping, and waxing floors, and light maintenance during non-peak periods.
- Organizes and maintains janitorial supplies and monitors stock levels.
- Informs Facility Manager of repairs and maintenance needs.
- Performs minor repairs and reports safety concerns or major issues.
- Follows procedures for inventory tracking and safety protocols.
- Lifts and moves furniture as needed.
- Performs laundry services as required.
Administrative
- Attends meetings as requested.
- Participates in scheduled training.
Critical Relationship Management
Internal: team members, managers, residents, clients; External: vendors, suppliers, service providers.
Managerial/Technical Leadership
- Reports to: Property Manager
- Supervises: none, but may supervise other caretakers or volunteers in absence of manager.
Working Conditions
- Indoor and outdoor work, handling waste and human biohazards.
- Exposure to chemicals, electrical hazards, infectious diseases, and challenging behaviors.
- Risk of injuries and working in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of general and cleaning experience, or equivalent education and experience.

Compensation
- Range: $27,846.00 to $38,641.20 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
