Job summary

The Metcalfe Hotel, part of Gray Collection in Ottawa, seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep our facilities in top condition and ensure guest comfort during a refreshed era.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you conduct inspections, perform repairs, follow safety rules, and collaborate with housekeeping to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications

• Relevant training in property maintenance.
• Minimum of two years of experience in property maintenance.
• Autonomy and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Attention to detail and precision.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage priorities.
• Proactive problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in French and English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of the hotel to identify potential issues and prioritize maintenance and repair tasks.
• Notify the Maintenance Manager of any significant problems requiring intervention and propose an action plan.
• Respond promptly and follow up on maintenance requests from guests and other departments.
• Carry out necessary repairs efficiently and timely to minimize negative impacts on guests.
• Take necessary measures to address repairs that cannot be completed by the contractor technician.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to the schedule established by hotel management.
• Follow established health and safety regulations.
• Work hand in hand with the housekeeping department to ensure all deficiencies are addressed promptly.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to enhance the guest experience.
• Perform other duties as needed and special projects as assigned by management.
