Job summary

Germain Hotels group is seeking a maintenance attendant/technician to join a small team in Calgary. You will respond to guest maintenance requests, perform preventive maintenance, and carry out interior and exterior work under the supervision of the maintenance manager.

You will contribute to safety and efficiency by following service manuals and building codes, performing light electrical tasks, and supporting the maintenance supervisor on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance.
• High school diploma or college diploma in mechanical technic of a building is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of equipment and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Respond to guest maintenance requests and corrective repairs under supervision.
• Maintain interior and exterior areas and report defective systems.
• Assist with moving, lifting, and placing objects and carry out minor electrical work.

Job description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be part of a small team of maintenance attendants and technicians, responsible for responding to guest maintenance requests of the hotel.

What You'll Do

• Proceed to visual inspection of the equipment
• Actively participate in preventive building maintenance procedures
• Perform daily maintenance work and reflect their activities in their schedule
• Perform interior and exterior work
• Report any defective systems and make the necessary corrections
• Possibility of gathering materiel outside the property
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects by move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladder
• Responsible for maintaining all mechanical component of the building under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor
• Proceed to minor electrical work (ex: light bulbs change)
• Ensure that service manuals are follow during preventive maintenance, repair or replacement of systems or components and adhere to sound engineering practices, building codes and health & safety precautions

What You'll Bring

• Experience in building maintenance
• High school Diploma or College diploma in mechanical technic of a building or an equivalent is an asset
• In good physical condition, capable of handling heavy materials and perform labour intensive duties, move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 100 pounds without assistance
