Job summary

Cogir Senior Living seeks a Maintenance Aide for Devonshire House I in Winnipeg to perform routine repairs and minor maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and building systems, while delivering great resident service.

You will paint, perform light carpentry, inspect safety and maintenance needs, and keep accurate records; follow health and safety rules; handle occasional housekeeping duties; and work in a trusted role with vulnerable adults.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Capable of performing heavy lifting and physical tasks.
• Familiar with minor repairs to facility and equipment.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating, water, gas, mechanical, plastering and painting.

Responsibilities

• Executes routine repairs and minor maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing equipment and the building.
• Paints, performs minor carpentry and maintains exterior grounds.
• Inspects premises regularly for maintenance and safety; files reports with supervisor.
• Adheres to facility policies and safety rules and safe working practices.
• Performs housekeeping and maintenance duties as required during assigned handyman tasks.
• Works in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents).
