Job summary

Lifetimes Living Inc. in Windsor, Ontario, is looking for a Maintenance Aide to perform general maintenance and servicing across the facility, ensuring life safety and comfort for residents. The role reports to the Environmental Services Manager and requires adherence to codes, regulations, and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or OSSD certificate is preferred.
• Ability to read and write English and follow written instructions.
• Computer skills are an asset.
• Three years experience in a maintenance role in a Retirement Community setting is preferred.
• Knowledgeable about the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Retirement Homes Act.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs to maintain home, equipment, furnishings, fixtures, and grounds.
• Follow preventative maintenance for building, HVAC, and fire systems.
• Refurbish suites on resident turnover.
• Order supplies and monitor the operating budget.
• Demonstrates attitudes and beliefs consistent with being person-centered.
• Working in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Conducts regular maintenance rounds to ensure all life safety and building and support systems are functioning properly.
• Notifies the Environmental Services Manager of significant building/equipment malfunctions/problems.
• Maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner and assures proper care in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintains required records, reports, statistics, etc., in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
• Ensures the privacy of residents during the performance of duties.
• Any and all other tasks as assigned

Following a preventative maintenance program for building, HVAC, and fire systems,

Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results from less than 6 months old and must be able to provide three supervisory references
