Job summary

Cardinal Creek Residence in Orléans, Ontario, is seeking a compassionate Staff Development Coordinator to lead the Home’s staff development program and deliver mandated in-services under the LTC Act 2021.

You will oversee orientation for new staff, students, volunteers, and caregivers, monitor clinical placements, and support managers in addressing learning needs; with a starting salary of $65,000 per year and a commitment to quality care.

Qualifications

  • Degree in health sciences or related field, or current nursing registration/certificate, or equivalent long-term care experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with LMS and adult education/training.
  • Ability to assess and address team and individual training needs.
  • Experience in Long-Term Care preferred.
  • French speaking is an asset.

Scope of the Role:

The Staff Development Coordinator reports to the Director of Care and manages the Home’s staff development program. Responsibilities include delivering mandatory in-services under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, leading orientation for all new staff, volunteers, caregivers, and students, monitoring clinical placements, and supporting managers in addressing staff learning needs.

Wage Rate

The starting annual salary is $65,000.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a people-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements, rights promotion, and risk management.
  • French speaking is an asset
Compliance & Health Requirements:
  • A current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) completed within the past six months, or willingness to obtain one.
  • TB test results dated within the last six months, or within 14 days of hire; alternatively, a chest X-ray completed within the last year, in accordance with Public Health guidelines.
  • Proof of all required vaccinations must be provided. Staying "up to date" with recommended vaccines is strongly encouraged. Requirements are subject to change based on Employer directives.
