Job summary

Teck Resources Limited in Vancouver is seeking a Mail Clerk to support the Vancouver offices (550+ employees). You will manage mailroom operations, courier coordination, and delivery services across departments.

The role requires 1–2 years of office experience, proficiency in MS Office, and strong time management. You will work in a fast-paced team, handle shipping requests, and assist with customs clearance for international shipments.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ previous office experience is necessary in a similar office role; previous Reception experience an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and efficiently handle changing priorities
  • Must possess strong time management skills and attention to detail
  • Proven track record to establish and maintain effective working relationships by exercising tact and diplomacy while maintaining the highest levels of customer service

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary point of contact for courier and shipping vendors while addressing service-related issues.
  • Accurately sort incoming packages and documents, and provide regular distribution, pick-up, and delivery service daily to all departments.
  • Coordinate employee shipment requests, special deliveries and office pickups for delivery by courier or through Canada Post.
  • Code and submit courier and shipping invoices.
  • Monitor postage meter to ensure adequate postage.
  • Maintain shipment records, tracking information and follow up on delivery issues as required.
  • Liaise with shipping providers, office supply companies and assist with RFP processes for local and international courier services.
  • Assist with customs clearance of international shipments arriving to Vancouver Offices and conduct audits for said shipments regularly.
  • Coordinate records management activities, including Iron Mountain pickups and deliveries.
  • Order office supplies and ensure adequate stock; coordinate special supply requests for business groups.
  • Ensure photocopy areas have adequate supply of paper
  • Order business cards as requested
  • Assist with ergonomic installment requests from office staff and follow procedures.
  • Assist with moving of boxes, equipment and supplies as required
  • Maintain a clean and orderly Mailroom and tidy other areas of the office
  • Provide kitchen, Reception and other absence coverage for Office Services team as required
  • Assist all personnel in the office as required in a helpful and professional manner
  • Various special projects or other duties as may be assigned.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Office Services, the Mail Clerk will aid with office support for the Vancouver offices (over 550 employees). This outstanding candidate will provide mailroom and various other office and delivery services!

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

Pay Range: CAD $49,000 - $60,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
