Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of macroeconomics, capital markets, and economics of real estate.
• Working knowledge of data analytics, financial, and quantitative analysis techniques.
• Working knowledge of computer programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL, PySpark).
• Ability to build and update dashboards (e.g. PowerBI).
• Knowledge of credit, liquidity, market, operational, and systemic risks as they apply to financial institutions.
• Experience in macroeconomic model development is an asset.
• Knowledge of risk management principles and methods.
• Ability to write clear and concise documentation, reports, briefing notes, etc.
• Superior oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Informs and maintains the organization's view of macroeconomic conditions.
• Performs research and monitoring of emerging trends and risks to regulated sectors.
• Evaluates and proposes actions to resolve or manage risks.
• Tracks and analyzes key macroeconomic developments in Canada and BC.
• Monitors housing market trends in Canada and BC.
• Prepares rationales, presentations, briefing notes, and discussion documents.
• Leads engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
