Pratt & Whitney Canada in Longueuil, QC, is seeking an skilled Machining Technician to manufacture, sharpen, and repair cutting tools on CNC machines. You will consult drawings, prepare tools, and operate multiple machines while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a DEP in machining with CNC ASP, strong teamwork, initiative, and analytical skills, plus basic English to follow technical instructions.

Qualifications

• DEP in machining techniques with ASP in CNC machining.

• Basic English to understand technical terms.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, sharpen, resharpen, repair, and modify cutting tools using CNC machines.
• Consult cutting tool drawings and sketches.
• Prepare tools, dress grinding wheels manually or using a CNC machine, and perform setup.
• Operate one or more machines simultaneously.
• Inspect cutting tools using comparators and automated inspection machines.
• Participate in the development of new processes.
• Perform mathematical calculations, including trigonometry.
• Wash, package, identify, and move parts while ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
• Maintain equipment and workstations in good condition.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment (oil levels, filter status).
• Work as part of a team and demonstrate autonomy.

What you need to succeed:

• Holder of a DEP in machining techniques with an ASP in machining on computer numerical control machine tools
• Ability to work well in a team

• This position is within a French-speaking work environment; nevertheless, it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms from international organizations.
