Kelly is currently hiring for a Machinist Maintenance Planner position with Dow Chemical at the Fort Saskatchewan location in Alberta. This is an onsite role.

Title: Machinist Maintenance Planner

Duration: 12+ month contract

Schedule: 4/10

Responsibilities / Duties

• Create job packages from work order scope, including all information on labor, materials, and services to ensure safe and efficient work execution.
• Utilize technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a range of activities.
• Serve as an informal resource for less experienced team members.
• Prepare job packages and input plans into SAP, indicating required resources, materials, and services.
• Identify necessary task activities, materials, tools, and equipment for job execution.
• Gather safety information and requirements to ensure safe work practices.
• Ensure all job packages include appropriate procedures and hazard assessments, supporting Maintenance Procedure Use Policy.
• Assist in creating, reviewing, and updating job procedures and checklists; initiate procedure Management of Change (MOC) as needed.
• Incorporate feedback from field personnel to optimize work plans.
• Review work orders for technical accuracy and completeness.
• Perform field checks when necessary.
• Create job packages for field, fabrication, or repair work in a shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus a Journeyman Certificate, Red Seal, or a two-year degree or higher, with discipline in machinist.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience (e.g., journeyman, maintenance, manufacturing, project management).
• Prior maintenance field planning experience is preferred.
• Ability to work safely in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at heights, and use PPE and safety equipment confidently. Willingness to undergo training on proper equipment use.
