Job summary

bristol machine works in Ontario is seeking an experienced machinist to join our precision shop. You will read drawings, set up lathes and milling machines, measure parts with micrometers and calipers, and ensure tight tolerances are met. 40 hours weekly, permanent position, English language required.

Applicants should have an apprenticeship or equivalent experience, and hold Machinist Red Seal Endorsement. Strong team player with attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Mandatory apprenticeship or equivalent machinist experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years as a machinist in a shop environment.
• Proficient in reading drawings and precision measurement.

Responsibilities

• Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts.
• Lay out work pieces and prepare for assembly.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
• Set up and adjust production machines/tools.
• Fit and assemble components to close tolerances.
• Maintain, repair and calibrate measurement instruments.
• Record inspection results and maintain reports.
• Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, gauges.
