Job summary

Qualifications

  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate is required.
  • Machinist trade certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts.
  • Measure and lay out work pieces for assembly.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
  • Repair machine tools and parts as needed.
  • Set up production machineries/tools and adjust as required.
  • Fit and assemble components to close tolerance.
  • Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
  • Document deviations from specs and maintain inspection records.
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts with micrometers/calipers.
  • Operate conventional and CNC machine tools.
