Machine Operator (Roll Forming or Punch Press)

Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Punch Press Operators and Roll Forming Operators for an upcoming assignment in Southern Ontario. This position requires 12-hour shifts, 5 days per week when on project, and is a temporary contract.

You will earn $35 per hour before overtime, plus a $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance when lodging is required, with travel paid and hotel accommodations provided when needed.

Qualifications

• Punch Press Operator or Roll Form Operator Experience (1 year preferred)
• Lock out tag out training (preferred)
• Experience in manufacturing environment
• Spot Welding experience (an asset)
• Experience in steel or metal fabrication industry (an asset)
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Physically able to bend, lift, stand and reach
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision as well as part of a team
• Basic computer skills
• Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)

Responsibilities

• Operate a Punch Press or Roll Forming machine
• Set up, monitor, operate and troubleshoot assigned machines
• Inspect parts to specifications
• Make adjustments or tool changes as necessary
• Load coils and feed presses
• Housekeeping duties as required for a safe work environment
