Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Area Leader, Production Supervisor, and/or Plant Manager, the Machine Operator is responsible for operating equipment correctly, monitoring gauges, organizing the process, and leading the line team to ensure the production of quality products at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Follow all Health & Safety guidelines, Safe Operating Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  2. Ensure safety guards are in place and functioning during machine operation.
  3. Adhere to all safety guidelines provided by the machine’s manufacturer.
  4. Perform maintenance checks to keep machinery in good condition.
  5. Respond to machine defects or issues, notify supervisors and maintenance as needed.
  6. Maintain cleanliness by removing scrap and housekeeping around the work area.
  7. Make machine adjustments during production as required.
  8. Communicate operational status and issues with the line leader.
  9. Conduct first case checks at the start of each product run.
  10. Perform process checks to ensure product quality and safety according to QA SOP/WI.
  11. Address line issues promptly to maintain efficiency.
  12. Follow recipes and product standards, including quantities and weights.
  13. Load and match packaging materials to products, perform changeovers as needed.
  14. Change totes and bins as necessary.
  15. Monitor product quality to ensure conformance to specifications.
  16. Use SPC weight control system to verify weights meet standards.
  17. Complete all paperwork accurately and timely.
  18. Set up and shut down equipment properly.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
  • Fast-paced, automated, high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Temperature-controlled and clean workspace.
  • Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Responsible and results-oriented with a focus on timelines.
  • At least 1 year of machine operating experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English; ability to complete work documents.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
