Job summary

The Authentic T-Shirt Company in Whitby, ON is seeking a Machine Operator for the morning shift (8:30 AM–5:00 PM) to support receiving, picking, packing and shipping operations. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will operate material handling equipment and uphold safety and accuracy standards.

Ideal candidates are forklift/MHE certified, comfortable using RF and PICK systems, and able to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs. This is a full-time on-site role with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to safely operate a forklift and reach truck.
• Experience with RF handheld scanners and warehouse management systems.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Pick high-bay orders to meet daily cutoff deadlines.
• Perform high and mid-bay location maintenance to meet accuracy standards.
• Perform put-away for inbound operation and shipping.
• Accurately and efficiently putaway orders and unload inbound trailers.
• Maintain a neat and safe work area and participate in inventory cycle counts.
• Identify quantities, codes and colours and report discrepancies.
• Locate products using RF system and optimize storage space.
• Stack pallets safely and communicate issues to supervisor.
• Assist in other warehouse duties as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Machine Operator operates all Material Handling Equipment used in receiving, order fulfillment (picking, processing, checking), and shipping.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Able to safely operate a forklift, narrow aisle order picker
• Working knowledge of internal PICK system and location maintenance, utilizing RF system
• Must be MHE certified (order picker)
• Work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Able to work from Reach Truck platform at heights of 20 feet or more
• Must be able to establish a routine to work efficiently
• Must be able to count quickly and accurately, with high attention to detail
• Ability to work well in a team environment

Working Conditions

• 40 hours per week; occasional overtime required
• Must wear CSA-approved safety footwear with protective steel toes and other personal protective equipment as required
• Able to perform continuous lifting up to 50lbs
• Repetitive bending, lifting, pulling, and stretching
• Able to work from truck platform at heights of 20 feet or more
• Use of ladder

Job Responsibilities

• Pick high-bay orders to meet daily cutoff deadlines
• Perform high and mid-bay location maintenance to meet minimum accuracy standards
• Perform put-away for inbound operation
• Shipping
• Accurately and efficiently putaway orders
• Efficiently unloads inbound trailers and loads transfer trailers as directed by Warehouse Supervisor
• Maintain a neat and tidy work area
• Participate in inventory cycle count program
• Identify and verify quantities, codes, and colours of incoming receivables
• Check for damaged cases/damaged product at point of receival; sign bill of lading appropriately and clearly, noting damage or shortage
• Report any discrepancies between packing slips and actual inbound freight to Warehouse Supervisor
• Accurately locate products in high and mid-bay locations using RF system
• Optimize storage space through product consolidations
• Stack wooden pallets in a safe and organized manner
• Monitor and report high and mid-bay product locations to inventory for corrections
• Perform daily check on equipment and battery fluid levels
• Report any problems with equipment without delay
• Actively participate in process analysis and improvement activities
• Adhere to current and future company policies and standards to ensure a safe and agreeable working environment
• Assist in other areas of the Warehouse department and additional duties as required by management

• Inform Inventory Control of any case lot deficiencies
• Work in cooperation and communicate effectively with all levels of the SanMar Canada team
• Keep co-workers informed of activities that have implications to their departments
• Openly communicate any successes, concerns or problems related to the job
