Permacon, a CRH Company, is a leader and pioneer in the manufacturing of concrete masonry and landscaping products. Permacon is a division of Oldcastle APG and operates 9 plants in Ontario and Quebec.

We are currently looking for Machine Operators for rotating day/night shifts and weekend shifts at our Metcalfe plant, Southern Ottawa.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate Rekers machine (dry side) and ensure its proper functioning.
2. Operate strapping and wrapping machines and ensure their proper functioning.
3. Operate all equipment related to the machine.
4. Follow quality manual, complete quality and production reports, and oversee the curing process to ensure product quality.
5. Perform set-up changes and operational adjustments for machine start-up.
6. Program equipment according to product specifications, create and save product recipes to optimize changeovers.
7. Perform preventive maintenance and participate in maintenance work.
8. Participate in machine clean-up and maintain a clean work area and toolbox.
9. Report abnormalities or faults related to product, quality, machine, or workplace to competent persons.
10. Work as part of a team and adhere to safety protocols by wearing personal protective equipment.

Requirements

1. High school diploma.
2. Knowledge of wielding, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics is an asset.
3. At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing equipment operation.
4. Team-oriented, mechanically inclined, responsible, proactive, and precise.
5. Must pass a mechanical aptitude test.
