Permacon, a CRH Company, is a leader in manufacturing concrete masonry and landscaping products. It operates 9 plants across Ontario and Quebec.

We are seeking Machine Operators for rotating day/night and weekend shifts at our Metcalfe plant, Southern Ottawa.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate Rekers machine (dry side) and ensure proper functioning.
• Operate strapping and wrapping machines, ensuring they function correctly.
• Handle all equipment related to the machine.
• Follow quality manual, complete quality and production reports, and oversee product curing.
• Perform set-up changes and operational adjustments for machine start-up.
• Program equipment according to product requirements, create and save product recipes for efficient changeovers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and participate in maintenance activities.
• Participate in machine clean-up and maintain a clean work area and toolbox.
• Report abnormalities or issues regarding product, quality, machine, or workplace to competent personnel.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Wear appropriate safety personal protective equipment and adhere to safety protocols.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma.
• Knowledge of wielding, mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics is an asset.
• Minimum of 2 years experience operating manufacturing equipment.
• Team-oriented, mechanically inclined, proactive, responsible, precise, and able to react quickly.
• Must pass a mechanical aptitude test.
