MAD Elevator Inc. is hiring a Machine Operator in Mississauga, ON. The role focuses on fabricating elevator fixtures and operating CNC engraving/router/laser equipment to meet CAD specifications.

The ideal candidate will read and interpret drawings, set up CNC machines, and maintain quality while working in a busy manufacturing environment. This is a full-time hourly position with standard shop hours and safety commitments.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent CNC experience.
  • At least 2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret mechanical layouts.
  • Ability to lift loads up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
  • Set up, operate and maintain CNC tools for precision machining per work orders.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machine.
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts.
  • Supervise machines during operations and adjust as needed to meet specs.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy using precision measuring tools.
  • Check daily machinery function and perform basic maintenance.
  • Analyze job orders and perform necessary calculations to support production.
  • Suggest improvements to reduce setup times and tooling time for productivity.
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and perform other duties as required.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs; may work in hot areas (15%), noisy (10%).
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety and participate in 5S in the work area.

Our Machine Operator, will be responsible for ensuring material and finished pieces meet the quality requirements. Produce parts from drawings and reporting non-conformances and working to solve known issues. Set up and operate the CNC Engraver/Router/Laser machine. Perform engraving, lasing and routing on elevator fixture panels by following related CAD Schematics.

The ideal candidate will be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and operate CNC machines as required by the work order specification.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent CNC professional experience
  • At least 2 years of Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings an asset
  • Excellent written communication, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to lift loads up to 50lbs
Responsibilities, Skills, and Competencies:
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
  • Set up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machine.
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts.
  • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce outputs according to specifications.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments (e.g. Micrometers, Vernier calipers) while infilling and cleaning engraving in a timely manner.
  • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
  • Analyze job order and performs necessary calculations.
  • Makes improvements to set up times for tasks and simplify tooling time for workers and increases productivity for the client.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs; may work in hot areas 15%, noise 10%.
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety as well as active participation in 5S activities in work area.

Pay: $22.80

This is a Full-time, Hourly position.

This position is located at 6635 Ordan Drive in Mississauga, ON. Hours are typically Mondays to Thursdays from 7:00am to 4:30pm, and Fridays from 7:00am to 3:30pm.
