Job summary

Jennmar-Canada in Rouyn-Noranda, Canada is seeking a production laborer to assist in general production activities under a mentor. This role progresses toward a machine operator position with hands-on experience in product assembly and machine operation.

Responsibilities include setting up materials, maintaining production efficiency, operating and tending machines, performing quality checks, and adhering to Health and Safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 2-5 years manufacturing and machine operating experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Good safety protocol knowledge in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to stand long periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Setup and change product materials in accordance with the production plan.
• Continuously maintain or exceed production efficiency goals.
• Operate or tend automatic or multi-purpose machines including wire looms to produce metal parts and metal products such as wire screening, fencing, tinware, metal baskets, racks, hooks, metal tubing and similar articles.
• Fit and assemble components using hand and power tools.
• Clean, polish, file or otherwise finish products.
• Check products for quality and other specifications.
• May clean and lubricate machinery.
• Work in accordance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned accordingly.
