Job description

The Card Punch Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating the Spartanic and Blumer Card Punching Machines. He or she reports daily totals to the Senior Leadhand, Card Finishing, and performs daily audits on work in progress.

Overnight Shift: Sunday to Thursday 10:30 pm - 6:30 am

Responsibilities

1. Set up and operate the Card Punch Machine as required.
2. Able to troubleshoot minor equipment problems when required.
3. Check production orders prior to each shift for job requirements.
4. Inspect the quality of cards produced, maintaining card tolerance as per ISO specifications.
5. Maintain and follow all security requirements.
6. Follow quality checks and procedures set by Management and Quality Control Department.
7. Monitor punch tool sharpness and die condition throughout the shift.
8. Follow daily schedule and productivity standards set for Card Punch equipment by the Senior Leadhand. Card Finishing is mandatory.
9. Train new hires as required.
10. Organize and clean the workstation and machine after each shift.
11. Complete all daily paperwork and audit control sheets.
12. Remove scrap materials from the Punch Machine and dispose of them in the Warehouse holding area.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Machine Operator experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organized and capable of multitasking.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• High School diploma preferred.

Working Conditions

• Overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Safety shoes/boots are mandatory.
• Must pass security and credit checks.

Physical Requirements

• Work standing on both feet for 100% of the time while operating machinery.
• Lift 10-50 lbs from floor to waist level frequently.
• Frequently bend, lift, walk, crouch, kneel, and sit.
• Require keen eyesight and attention to detail.
• May need to work long periods at a computer screen.
