JOB DESCRIPTION – PATTERN MAKER / SEWING MACHINE OPERATOR (PART-TIME TO FULL-TIME) Experience Required

Position Type:

Part-time to start (2–3 days a week, 8-hour workday) with potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance.

Salary: Hourly, based on experience

Language: English (not required)

Sewing Categories:

Including, but not limited to: outerwear, ready-to-wear apparel, dresses, and suiting.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a sewing machine operator, specifically with industrial machines.
  • Proficiency with chain stitch and cover stitch machines is preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction and pattern creation/modification.
  • Familiarity with both woven and knit fabrics.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sew samples for development and light production.
  • Create patterns from sketches, samples, or specifications.
  • Select, modify, and problem-solve patterns for custom, production, and sampling purposes.
  • Grade patterns where necessary.
  • Properly title and store finished patterns.
  • Fit, alter, and repair garments as required.
  • Apply fusing where necessary.
  • Maintain a tidy workspace.
  • Ensure finished garments are cleaned of threads.
  • Work well both independently and collaboratively.
  • Meet assigned timelines and complete sewing tasks.
  • Conduct oneself professionally and work effectively within a team.
  • High attention to detail is essential.
